Retreat I
24-bed landcare and meditation retreat, settled amongst a 45-hectare native vegetation restoration project, on Kaurna land. Designed to protect from prevailing winds and harness passive solar gain, a gently unfolding entry sequence includes a wildlife swale and framed views, before opening to an expansive view over the Gulf. Using reclaimed construction waste, recyclable materials, hand made elements, and fallen timber from site, this retreat is designed for both communal gathering and quiet reflection. Custom-designed joinery and furniture including benches, tactile door handles and fittings further embed community involvement and themes of the retreat. In progress
